A magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred at 2.52am (BST) on Friday 22nd May 2015 near Ramsgate in Kent.
A team from BGS and the University of Dundee has been studying the Virkisjökull-Falljökull glacier's main outflow river, the Virkisá, since 2012, as part of ongoing research and monitoring at the BGS glacier observatory in south east Iceland.

BGS and partners at Durham University used satellite imagery to map over 3000 landslides triggered by the M7.8 Gorkha earthquake in Nepal on 25th April 2015. These maps are helping the relief efforts.
